How many grape varieties are in the vineyards of Arba Wine
Oct 21 2021
Today we will tell you: how many varieties of grapes grow in the vineyards of Arba Wine.
Own root
All our vineyards are on their own roots. In short, this means that the root itself is not grafted, unlike in many countries of the world. Therefore, it produces amazingly pure and natural grapes.
14 grape varieties.
Today 14 varieties of grapes grow on our terroir.
Such as:
1. Rkatsiteli
2. Aligote
3. Riesling
4. Chardonnay
5. Auxerrois
6. Gewürztraminer
That's all for white varieties.
Red varieties such as:
1. Saperavi
2. Pinot Noir
3. Cabernet Franc
4. Merlot
5. Shira
6. Malbec
7. Muscat
8. Maysky
Healthy grape varieties on their own roots.
Some of these grape varieties were planted back in Soviet times and are already many years old. But these varieties are healthy and they still bring a good harvest.
Other varieties were imported and planted by us from Georgia, Italy, France. And they also took root on our terroir without grafting. Even in Georgia there is almost no such variety as Saperavi on its own root. It turns out that we are the keepers of natural Georgian Saperavi.
Professor Mario Fregoni.
Professor Mario Fregoni is one of the most famous scientists in the world, the author of large studies and books on viticulture, having studied our vineyards Mario concluded that he had not seen so many grape bushes growing on their own roots on any terroir.
And this gives us confidence in the future. After all, grapes from their own roots are of the best quality, which gives us the opportunity to make wine of a high world level.
Arba Wine is among the best wines in the world!
We are confident that in the near future the whole world will recognize us and our Arba Wine wines will be among the best wines in the world!
